Service
I believe that strong scholarship and teaching are rooted in service and community connection.
My service work includes leadership within professional organizations, contributions to the library and information science field, and community engagement initiatives. I value opportunities to build partnerships that advance literacy, learning, and access to information.

Activities
My leadership work connects research, teaching, and professional practice. Currently, I direct UNT’s Children’s & Young Adult Librarianship program, co-direct the Multiple Literacies Lab, serve as Secretary of IFLA’s Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section, and sit on the Board of the Tejas Storytelling Association. Together, these roles allow me to support librarians, educators, storytellers, and learners both in Texas and around the world.
